   Today, "hair plugs" is actually a slang term for a "hair transplant." In a modern hair transplant, permanent hair-producing follicles are harvested from the back of your scalp and implanted into the balding or thinning areas. Years ago, individual "plugs" containing up to 30 hairs each were harvested and transplanted (and looked pluggy). Thankfully, today, surgeons use ‘follicular-units,’ which are groups of one, two, or three hairs each. If the procedure is performed using an artistic approach and a ‘follicular-unit micrografting’ technique, the end result should be 100% undetectable. It is a virtually painless procedure which allows the restoration of a more youthful head of living and growing hair. The cost is typically around $10,000 and sometimes more than one session is needed to achieve the desired result. Sometimes medications or laser therapy treatments are used to protect and/or enhance the non-transplanted hair.
   Large national clinics and small solo-practices exist. Each doctor has his own philosophy, technique, and artistic talent, so do your research carefully. According to the ISHRS (International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery), the number of patients who desire hair restoration treatments is increasing. Most patients who have had hair transplantation wish they had done it sooner.

   The doctor takes a section from the back of you scalp and replants it where you need it how much it cost all depends
