www.lamfacialplastics.com HAIR TRANSPLANT AND HAIR RESTORATION Samuel Lam, Dallas Facial Plastic Surgeon discusses natural hair transplantation, corrective hair restoration, and his unique combination grafting approach for incredible hair density in only one session on Good Morning Texas….

How long do you feel it will be before the process can be gotten right?
I appreciate your trust in me to know the answer but I am more a surgeon than a researcher. I have no real idea to tell you the truth.
That’s all right. I appreciate your taking the time to respond — thank you.
Could they just transplant hair from an animal that has plenty, for example would and apes hair grow if transplanted? And what about transplanting from a human organ donor? we do it with many other parts, why not hair?
no, you would get rejection and this is not safe.
Thanks for the advice, but I would like to try it anyways, even if it’s not safe, it’s important to me and sometimes we have to take risks to make a breakthrough!!!
hmm you won’t find a reputable surgeon doing it on you. he would be imprisoned if he did it.
i know, I’ll probably have to go to Thailand or something, just kidding, I’m not going to do it if it’s not safe, I appreciate your advice. I have had two procedures and the results are OK, but I’m not trilled about them and the scar is really noticeable, so that’s not great either, I have to try to keep my hair long enough to cover it, I still where a hat 90% of the time cause I’m not confident with my hair, sometimes I wish I would have just got a nice wig and saved my self 5K
sorry to hear of your previous experiences but please do not go to Thailand. You will suffer significant rejection. They do artificial hair implants in Australia but with serious upkeep costs, problems, and reactions that are frightening. That’s as close as you are going to get to a transplant from anything other than your own hair.
Well thanks, I’m not going to get involved in that, I guess I’ll just have to wait for the hair replication process to be completed like everyone else! The surgion told me I still have plenty of donor hair but since I’m 31 they want me to wait and see if I have more hair loss before they do another procedure, what do you think about that? thanks for your advice!
that sounds good and it sounds as if your surgeon is being ethical. nice to hear that.
I guess so thanks for your advice, maybe you could answer another question for me that my surgeon didn’t totaly answer. I have found a product called DERMAMATCH that is intended to make hair look thicker and fuller and it actually works alright, it goes on the scalp and hair, it is thick like makeup and may even have some clay in it. what I really wanted to know is will it clog the pholicals over time and cause my hair to grow thinner? I have heard that a clean scalp is important 4 healthy hair
generally, i don’t think so. i think dermamatch should be fine.
Thanks, are you famaliar with the product I think it works alright, but no one I have talked to about hair has ever recomended it. Also since i’m 31 how long would you recomomend waiting for my next proeduer, i mean I will never really know if i might lose more hair in the future. You seem like you really know what your doing, i would consider coming to texas for my next procedure, keep up the good work!
just type in dermamatch in youtube. you will see my video on it. i really cannot comment when you might need another procedure because simply put i don’t know you. even if i did, we never have a crystal ball. just wait until you really need it before you do it again is my thought. obviously, you need to talk with an ethical surgeon in person about these matters.
I have heard there is a generic form of propecia on the market now, is this correct? Is it the same as the the original, do you perscribe one of them? where can I get it???
Thanks
currently, there is no generic propecia in the U.S. however, there is generic proscar, which is the 5 mg dose versus 1 mg for propecia. some people split the 5 mg dose but the distribution is uneven. i do not recommend doing this but if it is the only way you can afford propecia, then it is better than nothing.
Ok, that’s good advice, right now I am taking standard propecia, but I had wondered about that before, I mean what if i split the 5 mg dose into 4 doses of 1.25 mg, I mean I’m a big guy, 6’3 235lbs, so that extra .25 couldn’t be much different then a guy who is 125lbs taking the standard 1 mg right? I value your opinion so just let me know if my logic is wrong here, thanks for answering the questions that most docs are not clear about!
yes, splitting it into 4 is not a big deal. it is cheaper than getting propecia. i still prefer propecia brand because it leads to more consistent dosing. however, if you can only afford the quartered proscar, off the record, that is much better than nothing.
thank you for your advice, I will probably stick with propecia for now since your saying that is best, as far as the accurate dosing what if somone, theoreticaly, decided to buy the proscar, grind up the entire bottle and then use a scale to measure the powder into units of a mg, would this be a good idea???
well, we are now entering conjecture land, and i don’t like giving guess-laden responses. i like to talk with experience and not out of my butt. in this case, my butt would be talking.
Well i hear you, thanks again for the advice, I’ll stick with propecia, and I am pleased with results I get with dermatch, thanks!!!
great!
Fascinating. Thanks for posting.
@sirtinycreep you are most welcome!
